Speaker A:

Have you ever stopped to think about what being a partner with a ministry like really means?

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

So often it's, you know, a way to ask for donations, which is crucial.

Speaker A:

Absolutely vital.

Speaker A:

But that generosity usually flows one way, doesn't it?

Speaker A:

You give, they do the work.

Speaker A:

But what if.

Speaker A:

What if there was a different model, something genuinely reciprocal, where you could be a tree partner, sharing not just in the effort, but actually in the success.

Speaker B:

Tangibly sharing in it.

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

Well, today on the deep dive, we're looking at something pretty pioneering, actually.

Speaker B:

We are.

Speaker A:

We're diving into the what Did Jesus say?

Speaker A:

Book project.

Speaker A:

They call it wdjs.

Speaker B:

Wdjs?

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And this isn't just about understanding the mission, which is spreading Jesus's red letter words globally.

Speaker A:

It's about uncovering a really unique opportunity.

Speaker B:

A one of a kind chance really.

Speaker A:

For you, the listener, to become a real partner, not just a donor.

Speaker A:

Someone who actually shares in the, well, the financial outcomes of a worldwide book marketing program.

Speaker B:

That's the core of it.

Speaker B:

And the mission itself.

Speaker B:

It's so timely, isn't it?

Speaker A:

It really feels that way.

Speaker B:

Helping people wake up, step up, and just let Jesus actual words guide them.

Speaker A:

Especially now, putting his words directly into people's hands and hearts.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Fostering that unity through obedience to what he taught.

Speaker B:

It's powerful because it's simple in a way.

Speaker A:

Okay, so let's get into this.

Speaker A:

The person behind WDJS is Reverend Terry, a Christian.

Speaker A:

His story is pretty incredible and really explains why this project is structured the way it is.

Speaker B:

It really does.

Speaker B:

His early life.

Speaker B:

Wow.

Speaker B:

He calls it a violently dysfunctional family.

Speaker B:

His father's alcoholism was a big part of that.

Speaker A:

But his mother, she sounds like an amazing counterpoint.

Speaker A:

She raised him on the red letters.

Speaker B:

Planted those seeds early despite the chaos.

Speaker A:

And the challenges kept coming.

Speaker A:

He dropped out of school at 16.

Speaker B:

Yeah, just 16.

Speaker B:

He said he was uneducated, struggled with a really bad stutter, couldn't string more than a few words together.

Speaker B:

Said it was his way to safely leave home.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker B:

But then, like by what he calls divine design, he became a carpenter.

Speaker A:

A carpenter.

Speaker A:

You can't make that up, can you?

Speaker A:

Considering his later work building and repairing lives through the words of, well, the ultimate carpenter.

Speaker B:

Exactly.

Speaker B:

It's like foreshadowing.

Speaker A:

So fast forward a bit.

Speaker A:

He's 23, on Santa Monica beach, and something profound happens.

Speaker A:

A near death experience.

Speaker B:

That's right.

Speaker B:

He describes meeting the light of Jesus and hearing a voice.

Speaker A:

What did it say?

Speaker B:

You will see my light and you will know my voice.

Speaker B:

And right then, right There on the beach, he committed his life to speaking only on Jesus words.

Speaker A:

A total life change, just like that.

Speaker B:

And incredibly, given the stutter, just months later, he walks into the Dale Carnegie.

Speaker A:

Organization, the Speaking People.

Speaker A:

How did that happen?

Speaker A:

He said it was pure determination, right?

Speaker A:

Not education, pure grit.

Speaker B:

They hired him, put him through the training.

Speaker B:

It helped him overcome the stutter and turned him into motivational speaker.

Speaker A:

That's amazing.

Speaker B:

And he just soaked it all up visually.

Speaker B:

Read like 500 books on personal development, trained with big names like Jim Rohn.

Speaker A:

Jim Rohn, Wow.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And by the time he was 46, he'd given over 2,000 speeches across the US and Canada.

Speaker A:

From a kid who couldn't speak to delivering 2,000 speeches.

Speaker A:

Incredible pivot.

Speaker B:

But his journey wasn't just about secular success.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker A:

There was a spiritual deepening too.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

At 46, he talks about a midlife challenge and correction.

Speaker B:

A 46 day fast.

Speaker A:

46 days.

Speaker A:

What did that involve?

Speaker B:

Just juice, water, decaf coffee, and scripture.

Speaker B:

Scripture was his food.

Speaker B:

He said it was intense preparation for.

Speaker A:

Ministry, preparing him for what was next.

Speaker A:

Perhaps because trouble came knocking again.

Speaker B:

It did, in:

Speaker B:

He's 59.

Speaker B:

Bladder cancer.

Speaker B:

Diagnosis really serious.

Speaker A:

Oh, serious.

Speaker B:

Doctors gave him three years max, and they wanted to remove his bladder immediately.

Speaker A:

Oh, my goodness.

Speaker B:

But Reverend Terry, he felt God had.

Speaker A:

Another plan and that led him somewhere unexpected, didn't it?

Speaker A:

To Jamaica.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

For what he calls his miracle walk.

Speaker B:

He went to Negril for 21 days.

Speaker A:

And walked 100 miles on the beach.

Speaker B:

100 miles while fasting, praying, and just immersing himself in every single red letter word.

Speaker B:

Jesus spoke about healing, believing those words held his cure.

Speaker B:

And the result, Just two months later, doctors declared him cancer free.

Speaker A:

Wow.

Speaker B:

Just a genuine miracle linked directly to focusing on Jesus words.

Speaker A:

So that personal healing, that intense focus on the words, that really fueled his mission moving forward.

Speaker B:

Absolutely.

Speaker B:

He felt the Holy Spirit send him back to Jamaica, not just for his own healing, but to teach.

Speaker A:

So he started spending a lot of.

Speaker B:

Time there for about 10 years.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Nine months a year.

Speaker B:

Working online, speaking in schools, reaching people who needed motivation but couldn't afford, you know, typical programs, making a real difference.

Speaker B:

And then in:

Speaker B:

It all flows from that miracle and the power he found in Jesus.

Speaker B:

Direct words.

Speaker A:

Which brings us perfectly to the book itself.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

What did Jesus say?

Speaker A:

You mentioned it's different from, say, what would Jesus do?

Speaker A:

How so?

Speaker B:

Well, like the title says, right.

Speaker B:

It shifts the focus, not what would he do?

Speaker B:

Which is speculative, but what does he actually say?

Speaker A:

Okay, so it's about direct instruction.

Speaker B:

Exactly.

Speaker B:

Reverend Terry wanted something to guide obedience, to help people walk it, not just talk about it or think about it.

Speaker A:

So no opinions, no commentary?

Speaker B:

None.

Speaker B:

He felt strongly guided by the Holy Spirit on that.

Speaker B:

Just the red letter words from the four gospels.

Speaker A:

Pure, unfiltered, with sources cited, you mentioned.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

Scripture sources right there on each page.

Speaker B:

So you can easily go deeper, check.

Speaker A:

The context and the reading experience.

Speaker A:

It's set up as a teaching devotional.

Speaker B:

Yes, in seven messages.

Speaker B:

The idea is to make it feel like you're walking down the beach with Jesus.

Speaker B:

Kind of like the Sermon on the Mount.

Speaker B:

Feel intimate, direct, immersive.

Speaker B:

Very.

Speaker B:

And people seem to get that.

Speaker B:

Someone told him, it's obvious God was the author of your book.

Speaker B:

You were just his pen.

Speaker A:

That's powerful feedback, isn't it?

Speaker B:

And another one.

Speaker B:

A messianic Jew reviews thousands of books, does like 700 interviews a year.

Speaker B:

He looked at WDJS and said, it's different, unlike all the others.

Speaker A:

High praise from someone who's seen it all.

Speaker B:

Basically, it really underscores how unique it.

Speaker A:

Is and how can people get it.

Speaker B:

What formats it's accessible.

Speaker B:

There's a full color paperback.

Speaker B:

The words of Jesus are actually in red ink, which is nice.

Speaker A:

Like a traditional red letter Bible.

Speaker B:

Exactly.

Speaker B:

Then there's a full color ebook and an audiobook too.

Speaker B:

So really, anyone can engage with it however they prefer.

Speaker A:

Now, let's talk about the podcast.

Speaker A:

Reverend Terry had this huge career as a speaker traveling everywhere.

Speaker A:

Why shift focus to a podcast for this project?

Speaker B:

Well, think about reach.

Speaker B:

A podcast.

Speaker B:

You can impact the whole world from one spot, right?

Speaker A:

True.

Speaker A:

No need for constant travel, and it fits today's world.

Speaker B:

Podcasts are personality driven, message driven.

Speaker B:

It just works and it connects to the book perfectly.

Speaker B:

The podcast brings attention to the book.

Speaker B:

The book points people to the podcast.

Speaker B:

It's this symbiotic loop centered on that core message that walking with Jesus is walking with him, not just talking about him.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

I feel like we're getting to the absolute core of what makes this whole thing so different.

Speaker A:

We've got the man, the message, the book, the podcast.

Speaker A:

But the partnership aspect, this is where it really breaks the mold, isn't it?

Speaker B:

This is the game changer.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Reverend Terry, with his background in financial planning, right.

Speaker A:

He wasn't just a speaker and minister.

Speaker B:

No, he understood finance, and he deliberately wanted to avoid the standard ministry model of just asking for donations.

Speaker A:

He uses an analogy, doesn't he?

Speaker A:

Like oil wells or Gold mines.

Speaker B:

Exactly.

Speaker B:

Think about it.

Speaker B:

You invest seed money in an oil well, you expect to share in the profits if it hits.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker A:

Of course.

Speaker A:

That's how investment works.

Speaker B:

So he applied that logic here when he invites people to plant their seed in the WDJS project.

Speaker B:

It's not just a spiritual metaphor.

Speaker A:

It's a literal invitation to share in the potential financial rewards precisely based directly.

Speaker B:

On the book sales performance worldwide.

Speaker B:

It's about finding partners in the traditional sense of the word.

Speaker A:

Moving beyond partner equals donor.

Speaker B:

Way beyond.

Speaker B:

It's reciprocal.

Speaker B:

It's a tangible, measurable investment in a kingdom assignment where you benefit alongside the mission.

Speaker A:

That really is different.

Speaker A:

So let's break down the specifics.

Speaker A:

For someone listening right now, thinking, okay, how does this actually work?

Speaker A:

This is a chance to profit from helping a ministry market its message globally.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

First, the investment level is designed to be accessible.

Speaker A:

What's the range?

Speaker B:

Starts at $500, goes up to $5,000.

Speaker B:

So, you know, manageable entry points.

Speaker A:

And the return, it's not just getting your money back?

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker B:

The goal, the commitment is to return your initial investment plus 3 times more based on the performance of the products.

Speaker A:

3 times more.

Speaker A:

How is that funded?

Speaker A:

Where does that money come from?

Speaker B:

It's built into the model.

Speaker B:

A specific percentage from every single sale, paperback, ebook, audiobook, goes directly into a dedicated marketing fund.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker B:

And that fund's primary purpose is to generate those returns for the partners.

Speaker B:

It's earmarked for that.

Speaker A:

So there's a mechanism in place.

Speaker A:

And is there like an agreement?

Speaker B:

Absolutely.

Speaker B:

Transparency is key.

Speaker B:

Partners receive a formal product performance agreement.

Speaker A:

What was that outline?

Speaker B:

It details your investment, the percentage of sales allocated for your return, and the projected path to getting your investment back plus that threefold reward.

Speaker B:

It's clear.

Speaker B:

No vague promises.

Speaker A:

A clear roadmap.

Speaker A:

And the immediate goal for this phase?

Speaker B:

To raise $50,000.

Speaker B:

That initial 50k is what's needed to really launch the worldwide marketing and platforming effort effectively.

Speaker A:

And what happens after the partners get their investment back plus the three times return?

Speaker A:

Does the money just keep flowing to them?

Speaker B:

No, that's another key part of the vision.

Speaker B:

Once the initial partners are rewarded according to the agreement, the ongoing proceeds shift focus.

Speaker A:

Okay, where do they go?

Speaker B:

They fund something called Project Help.

Speaker A:

H E L P. What does that stand for?

Speaker B:

Helping everyone live peacefully and productively in obedience to Jesus.

Speaker B:

The idea is to use the book's ongoing success to strengthen Christians.

Speaker B:

Equip them so they are better able to reach out and help the lost.

Speaker B:

Build the foundation first.

Speaker A:

Empowering the believers to Then do the outreach.

Speaker A:

It's a sustainable cycle.

Speaker B:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

So wrapping this up, it really does sound unique.

Speaker A:

Not done anywhere else.

Speaker A:

A ground floor chance in something with potentially significant reach and revenue.

Speaker A:

You're not just donating, you're genuinely participating.

Speaker B:

You really are.

Speaker B:

Which leads to a question for you, the listener, doesn't it?

Speaker B:

What kind of impact could you make by partnering in this way, helping unite Christians around obedience to Jesus and being part of a sustainable, rewarding model that funds future work?

Speaker B:

It's a different way to think about contributing.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker A:

It really is.

Speaker A:

And for everyone listening, there's a fantastic way to experience the core message yourself.

Speaker B:

Yes, the free offer.

About your host

Profile picture for Robert Thibodeau

Robert Thibodeau

I am a 12 year Army veteran as both enlisted and as a commissioned Cavalry Officer.
I am now a retired law enforcement supervisor...

I had my own business for seven years before I entered law enforcement.

As a cop, I was injured on the job on May 12, 2007 and after several surgeries over a couple of years, forced to retire in 2011.

As I was looking down the road to “what am I going to do next?” I started what is now known as a podcast (I had no clue at the time).

Within six months of starting (what I called) “My online radio program” I was offered an opportunity to be on nationwide AM radio. I learned A LOT in one year of doing that!

I then started the online Christian radio platform "Evangelism Radio" in the fall of 2010. It has had listeners in 160+ nations and all 50 states. We host 50+ Christian broadcasters on a weekly basis. We have been operating 24/7 for almost 14 years now. We have been rated #1 in the world by Shoutcast. com on several occasions in our genre. We recently transferred ownership of Evangelism Radio to another ministry so I could concentrate full time on podcasting, preaching and writing.

In 2018, I started the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast to conduct interviews with Christian influencers from all walks of life and to play their interviews on the radio station. (The KCR Podcast has its own time slot on Evangelism Radio)!
We now have over 1600 episodes and almost 1100 interviews (in just over 6 years).

Looking out at the future of online Christian media, I noticed there was no viable platforms that catered only to the Christian podcast market.

In 2023, we launched a networking platform called, "FaithCasters" which connects "Great Christian podcasters with Great Christian Guests!" This helps to promote the work you do through podcast interviews! Check it out at https://FaithCaster.org

We recently launched "FaithCaster Academy" which serves as a training hub for ALL of our trainings (podcast training / speaker training / interview training, etc.). Members receive access to ALL of our training programs for one low, monthly membership fee. Members also receive FREE access to ALL of the LIVE trainings I conduct (1 or 2 per month) - while non-members have to pay to access the live trainings.

Between my podcast training program, conducting podcast interviews, appearing on other podcasts as guests, speaking at conferences (in person and virtually) and the podcast networking platform, I guess you could say “I’m all in” when it comes to podcasting and online media!

My total focus is to do all we can to assist you to “Get The Word Out” about your mission, services, products, ministry, books, business, etc.
